About the 2024 Acura TLX

2nd generation TLX (2021-2025), mid-cycle refresh year

Acura positions the TLX as a premium sport sedan with bold styling, strong turbo power, and a driver-focused feel. The pitch is not maximum rear-seat space or a soft luxury setup; it is sharp steering, confident road manners, rich standard equipment, and upscale cabin tech wrapped in a more distinctive shape than many rivals. In the lineup, the TLX serves shoppers who want a sporty daily sedan with luxury features and available high-performance hardware in the Type S.

The Technology Package trim becomes the starting point, pairing a 272-hp turbo engine with leather-trimmed seats, navigation, and a 13-speaker audio system. The A-Spec adds standard all-wheel drive and sportier styling, while the Type S remains the performance model with a 355-hp turbo V6, stronger brakes, an adjustable suspension, and Sport+ mode.

What changed, by category

Lineup
The range is reduced to Technology, SH-AWD A-Spec, and Type S. The previous base, Advance, front-wheel-drive A-Spec, Type S PMC Edition, and Type S High Performance Wheel & Tire Package versions leave the lineup; the continuing Technology and all-wheel-drive A-Spec trims receive revised names.
Powertrain
The A-Spec becomes all-wheel-drive-only. The Type S keeps its 355-hp turbo V6 but gets a retuned Sport+ mode with quicker throttle response.
Styling
Every TLX gets a frameless Diamond Pentagon grille and revised front and rear styling. The A-Spec adds redesigned 19-inch wheels, larger round exhaust outlets, and a gloss-black rear spoiler, while the Type S gets a new 20-inch wheel design.
Tech
A 12.3-inch center display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster become standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. The Type S adds a 10.5-inch head-up display and a higher-resolution surround-view camera.
Safety
The AcuraWatch safety suite gets updated radar and object-recognition hardware, along with new lane-change alert functions.
Structural
Acura adds cabin-noise reduction work across the lineup for a quieter interior.

“This is a great "daily driver" with a performance edge, and a terrific highway cruiser. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who does NOT need a roomy back seat. The back seat is cramped for adults... I only use it for my two dogs (with seat protector!)”

“It's sexy, quick and fun to drive, and offers most features a driver might want. It has ample room for driver and front passenger but very limited for rear occupants.”

CSChad S.
2024 Acura TLX A-Spec AWD

“It's a great vehicle that is fantastic to drive and reliable. Only complaints are surrounding its technology. Has an unfriendly touchpad, and has issues all the time with Apple CarPlay, and it's missing some very basic controls to EASILY switch between audio sources and other things.”
