About the 2023 Nissan Kicks

1st generation, post-2021 refresh year.

Nissan positions the Kicks as a small, city-friendly crossover that mixes standout style with useful tech and easy everyday driving. Its appeal is strong fuel economy, a small footprint that is easy to park, a surprisingly practical cabin for the size, and a generous amount of standard safety tech. It stands out more for value, maneuverability, and smartphone-friendly features than for speed or all-weather capability.

The S is the simple city-friendly version, with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a standard driver-assist safety suite. The SV adds daily-use upgrades such as an 8-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, remote start, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The SR takes the more expressive route with LED lighting, dark exterior details, sport-themed cabin trim, and a 360-degree parking camera.

“The computer is glitchy and water comes into the vehicle when you have the hatchback open and it is raining. I highly recommend rain guards on the windows. The seats are very uncomfortable after about an hour of sitting in them. The 360 cameras are fantastic! The headlights are great. I cannot get the rearview mirror to connect to either one of my garage doors, I have tried EVERYTHING!”
