2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe gets a light equipment update rather than a redesign. The biggest change is a wider rollout of the 10.25-inch navigation system and related tech, especially across hybrid and plug-in hybrid trims.

About the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

4th generation Santa Fe (2019-2023), post-2021 refresh, final year before the all-new 2024 redesign.

The 2023 Santa Fe is Hyundai's roomy two-row family SUV for shoppers who want more comfort and feature content than many compact crossovers without jumping to a full three-row vehicle. Its core appeal is a quiet ride, generous back-seat and cargo room, a long warranty, and a wide spread of powertrains: simple gas, fuel-saving hybrid, and plug-in hybrid. Hyundai positions it as a value-rich family vehicle with upscale tech and safety equipment available well below luxury-brand pricing.

The 2023 lineup ranges from the straightforward gas SE to the efficiency-focused Blue hybrid with standard AWD. XRT emphasizes a tougher look and added convenience equipment, while Calligraphy pairs a turbo gas engine with upscale features such as a head-up display, premium audio and extra parking cameras. Limited models focus on comfort with leather seating, ventilated front seats and a surround-view camera.

What changed, by category

Tech
Every hybrid and plug-in hybrid trim gains a standard 10.25-inch navigation screen, dynamic voice recognition and wireless map updates. Gas SEL, XRT, SEL Premium, Limited and Calligraphy models gain the same navigation, voice and map-update features, along with Hyundai Digital Key. The gas SEL also makes dual-zone climate control standard.
Safety
Highway Driving Assist becomes standard on every hybrid and plug-in hybrid trim. Blind-spot monitoring also becomes standard on the gas SE.
Styling
There is no major exterior redesign, but gas-trim appearance details are reshuffled. XRT is reorganized as a more self-contained trim with its rugged-look styling and additional convenience equipment bundled together.

“If you're looking for a more conservative and not a statement in the exterior of the car you drive, this is nice. The interior is beautiful! The only real negative is the driver's seat sits up higher than the passenger for some odd reason, and it makes you feel awkward and uncomfortable.”

“We love our Hyundia [Name] Fe Plugin Hybrid. With its 31 mile battery capacity, we rarely use gas except for road trips. If they expand the battery capacity to 40 or 50 miles, we will be the first to buy it!”

“Vehicle provides a smooth, comfortable, and safe ride for me and my family. We enjoy the up to date features and quality of the sound. The most fun feature is the full length sunroof. Children enjoy looking up and seeing the sky day and night.”
