About the 2023 GMC Acadia

Second generation, final year before the all-new 2024 redesign.

GMC positioned the 2023 Acadia as a premium-leaning midsize three-row SUV that mixes family space, flexible cargo room and available towing with a more upscale look than many mainstream rivals. Across GMC’s own materials, the themes are comfort, versatility, useful technology and a broad trim spread: SLE for core family duty, SLT for more comfort, AT4 for light off-pavement use and Denali for a more luxurious feel.

The 2023 lineup runs from the practical SLE to the more polished SLT, the adventure-focused AT4 and the luxury-oriented Denali. AT4 stands out with a V6, AWD and off-road driving modes, while Denali adds ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats and a head-up display. Every trim has an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Frequently asked questions

What changed on the 2023 GMC Acadia compared with the 2022 model?

The 2023 Acadia received only minor equipment changes. SLT, AT4 and Denali gained a wrapped steering wheel, while Park Assist changed from standard to optional on SLE, SLT and AT4; the engines, trim lineup and standard safety suite otherwise carried over.

Is the 2023 GMC Acadia a redesigned model?

No, the 2023 Acadia is not redesigned. It is the final model year of the second-generation version before the all-new, larger 2024 Acadia arrived.

Which 2023 GMC Acadia trims have the new wrapped steering wheel?

The 2023 Acadia SLT, AT4 and Denali have the newly added wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls. The SLE did not receive this update.

Is Park Assist standard on the 2023 GMC Acadia?

Park Assist is optional rather than standard on the 2023 Acadia SLE, SLT and AT4. This is a change from 2022, when it was standard on those three trims.

Is the 2023 GMC Acadia worth choosing over the 2022 model for its updates?

The 2023 Acadia is not a meaningful upgrade over the 2022 model based on equipment changes alone. Its main addition is a wrapped steering wheel on three trims, and Park Assist became optional on SLE, SLT and AT4; the main mechanical and safety-suite content stayed much the same.

“I love the overall style and comfort of the car. The safety features are amazing and are great to have with younger drivers. One feature that I do not like are the headlights. They seem very dim in the night time, even when the high beams are turned on.”
