About the 2022 Toyota Avalon

5th generation Avalon/Avalon Hybrid (2019-2022), final U.S. model year.

Toyota positions Avalon as its roomy, premium sedan: a quiet, comfortable four-door with upscale materials, a generous back seat, strong safety content, and either smooth V6 power or high-efficiency hybrid mileage. Compared with mainstream midsize sedans, Avalon leans more toward relaxed highway comfort and near-luxury equipment. It gives shoppers a softer, more spacious alternative to sport-focused rivals while keeping Toyota’s reputation for durability, easy ownership, and familiar controls.

The 2022 Avalon ranges from the comfort-focused XLE to the near-luxury Limited, which has leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display, and JBL audio. Touring is the sportiest version, pairing a 301-horsepower V6 with an adaptive suspension and black 19-inch wheels. The XSE Nightshade hybrid combines a 215-horsepower hybrid system with black exterior trim, a moonroof, and wireless phone charging.
