About the 2022 Jaguar E-PACE

1st generation E-PACE, second year after the major 2021 update.

Jaguar positions the E-PACE as its first compact SUV and the easiest way into the brand. The core appeal is a small luxury SUV that puts design and road manners ahead of maximum interior space: distinctive Jaguar styling, standard all-wheel drive, upscale cabin tech, and a more driver-focused feel than many rivals. For most shoppers, the E-PACE is the Jaguar for city use, daily commuting, and light family duty, with a stronger emphasis on character and style than pure practicality.

The P250 serves as the entry E-PACE, with AWD, heated leather front seats, and a curved 11.4-inch touchscreen. The P250 SE pairs the same 246-hp engine with navigation and a digital driver display, while the P300 Sport uses a 296-hp mild-hybrid engine, adaptive suspension, and darker exterior trim for a more athletic feel.

How the 2023 Jaguar E-PACE compares

The biggest change for the 2023 Jaguar E-PACE is a simplified U.S. lineup with only the P250 SE trim. This is otherwise a light update rather than a redesign.

Frequently asked questions

What changed on the 2022 Jaguar E-PACE compared with the 2021 model?

Very little changed for 2022. The 360-degree camera became optional rather than standard on the P250 SE and P300 Sport, while the trim lineup, engines, styling, cabin, and touchscreen system carried over.

Was the 2022 Jaguar E-PACE redesigned?

No, the 2022 E-PACE was not redesigned. It is the second model year after the substantial 2021 update, which brought revised styling, an upgraded cabin, a curved 11.4-inch touchscreen, and updated electronics.

Did the 2022 Jaguar E-PACE get a new engine?

No, the engines carried over for 2022. The P250 and P250 SE use a 246-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, while the P300 Sport has a 296-hp mild-hybrid version; all three have AWD and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Is the 360-degree camera standard on the 2022 E-PACE P250 SE and P300 Sport?

No, the 360-degree camera is optional on the 2022 P250 SE and P300 Sport. It had been standard on those trims for 2021.

Is the 2022 Jaguar E-PACE a major upgrade over the 2021 model?

No, the 2022 E-PACE is not a major upgrade over the 2021 model. Most of the important styling, cabin, technology, and powertrain updates arrived for 2021, and the 2022 lineup is substantially the same aside from the camera equipment change.

Comments from owners are optional, but included here when available.

“The luxury is good, but not great. Our XF was more luxurious and had a better ride, however it was not an SUV, so it was a trade off. We would have preferred the higher luxury of the F-Pace with the styling of the E-Pace. The best option of all would've been if the E-Pace was all electric. We LOVED the all electric experience.”

“This vehicle is comfortable, sporty, and has a great interior and exterior design. The gestures are great and every detail is great.”
