About the 2021 MINI Countryman

2nd generation (F60, 2017-2024), mid-cycle refresh year.

MINI positions the Countryman as the brand’s biggest and most versatile vehicle: a small SUV that keeps MINI’s playful look and agile road feel while adding real family usefulness. It is the MINI for shoppers who need five seats, a higher driving position, flexible cargo space, and available all-wheel drive without giving up the brand’s personality. What sets it apart is the mix of compact footprint, distinctive styling, and a wider powertrain spread than many rivals, from basic gas to plug-in hybrid to JCW performance.

The 2021 Countryman lineup ranges from the 134-hp Cooper to the livelier 189-hp Cooper S, with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on trim. The 224-hp Cooper SE ALL4 plug-in hybrid covers short electric trips, while the 301-hp John Cooper Works ALL4 is the performance model with stronger brakes and a sport suspension. Oxford editions emphasize comfort with heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control.

“The driving experience is fun and the technology is great. The design is minimal (which I love), but if you are indifferent about things like performance, handling, and turbo, then this isn't the car for you.”
