About the 2021 Genesis G90

1st generation (2017-2022), second year after the major 2020 restyle

The G90 is Genesis's largest and most comfort-focused sedan, built around a quiet cabin, a soft controlled ride, generous passenger space, and an unusually long list of standard luxury and driver-assistance features. Its strongest distinction is that many amenities requiring packages on competing full-size luxury sedans were factory-installed across the range. The 2021 model emphasizes relaxed long-distance travel and rear-passenger comfort rather than sharp, sporty handling.

The 3.3T Premium is a well-equipped luxury sedan for an owner-driver, with a 365-hp twin-turbo V6, adaptive suspension, Nappa leather, and a 12.3-inch navigation display. The more passenger-focused 5.0 trim has a 420-hp V8, reclining and ventilated power rear seats, and dual rear entertainment displays.

What changed, by category

“This is my third Genesis (previously owned two G80s) The quality of the Genesis is outstanding and their included features and safety equipment are outstanding.”

“The Genesis G90 is an amazing vehicle - specifically useful for those that drive long highway trips. The power is fantastic and the overall vehicle is extremely smooth. The car has two major drawbacks, in my opinion. The low-beam headlights are poor and provide very little illuminated distance. And the car has a very low ground clearance. They are the only drawbacks that I have found with the vehicle overall.”

“It is a large sedan. It is solid and heavy. It is comfortable and roomy. It has more power than I normally need but it's plenty if I need it! It handles well but is easy on your passengers. It is quiet, but can be quieter as the luxury cars of the 50s and 60s.”
