About the 2020 Ram 3500

5th generation Ram Heavy Duty (2019-2024), second year after the all-new redesign

The Ram 3500 is Ram's one-ton heavy-duty pickup for buyers who need serious towing and payload capacity without giving up cabin comfort. Ram markets it as a hard-working truck that can move big trailers and heavy loads, but also as one of the more polished trucks in the segment, with a quiet cabin, strong infotainment options, and trims that range from basic job-site use to full luxury-truck duty.

The lineup runs from the work-focused Tradesman to the more comfortable Big Horn and Texas-specific Lone Star, then into the leather-lined Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. Notable features range from a Class V hitch and trailer wiring on the Tradesman to an 8.4-inch touchscreen in the Laramie and a 12-inch touchscreen with navigation in the Limited.

What changed, by category

Tech
Trailer tire-pressure monitoring joined the lineup, along with support for as many as two auxiliary cameras to provide additional views around a trailer or work area.
Safety
Lane keep assist and adaptive steering appeared on more configurations. Blind-spot monitoring also expanded, including coverage that accounts for a connected trailer.
