About the 2020 Jeep Gladiator

JT generation, first model year

Jeep positioned the Gladiator as an outdoor-adventure midsize pickup that blends Wrangler-style off-road ability with useful truck hardware. Its identity centers on standard 4WD, low-range gearing, a five-passenger cabin, a 5-foot cargo bed, and stronger towing and payload capability than a Wrangler. The key difference from conventional midsize pickups is its combination of serious trail hardware, distinctive Jeep design, and an open-air body structure.

The range stretched from the straightforward Sport and more convenient Sport S to the comfort-focused Overland, which had a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and dual-zone climate control. Rubicon focused on slow-speed rock crawling with front and rear locking differentials, while Mojave used specialized shocks, a reinforced frame, and a locking rear differential for faster travel over rough terrain. The limited Launch Edition paired Rubicon hardware with navigation, upgraded audio, LED lighting, and added driver-assistance features.

How the 2021 Jeep Gladiator compares

The most important change for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator is the addition of the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 to several automatic-transmission trims. This is a lineup-expansion year rather than a redesign, with added special editions and revised trim names.

“Don't hesitate to purchase one. A great blend of functionality and superior styling.”

RARon A.
2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland

“Love: Wrangler features like taking the doors and top off. Truck bed capacity. 8 speed auto transmission is smooth. Modern tech like big screen on dash, LED lights, backup cam. Hate: everything is digital and the dash layout is not intuitive.”

JPJordan P.
2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon

“It's a 3 in 1 vehicle that is practical and fits my needs and expectations, not too big, not too small, just right.”
