If you are not planning to take it to the track, it's a waste of car. Go for the Standard M5 vs Competition M5 (or even the Alpina.) I never realized how powerful this car was until owning and using it as a daily driver for the last few months. You'll never be able to drive it properly on normal streets and will likely lure yourself into a ticket. The temptation is enormous and the cars pickup is ludicrously fast. Competition package has stiffer suspension and marginal gains on HP. For a daily driver, I'd go for the Standard M5. That being said... I've already got have 5 track days lined up this year!

The BMW M5 is a world-class performance sports sedan. The acceleration is exhilarating, the handling is great, the car is very comfortable, the ride is firm but not jarring. The fuel mileage is good for a car with this much power. It's the best high performance I have ever owned! I don't recommend the M5 Competition, as it has a ten percent firmer suspension than the M5, and costs $7,000 more. The only negative is the car comes without a spare tire and wheel.

If you want drive a luxurious beast that combines speed, comfort, and affordability the M5 is the car!

If you are in the market for a high performance AWD sedan, buy it. It is the best vehicle I have owned

If you are considering the purchase/lease of a BMW M5 Competition, my recommendation is to get it. Simply put, this vehicle is perfect. The M5 is the ideal combination of luxury, performance, style, and technology that surrounds you with tactile, aural, visual, and emotional pleasure. There is no other 4-door sedan out there that has it all like the M5. And talk about fun!

It's a great overall choice.
