About the 2019 MINI Convertible

3rd gen F57 (2016-2024), mid-cycle refresh year

MINI positions the Convertible as a small premium four-seat soft-top focused on open-air fun, playful handling, and distinctive design rather than cargo space or rear-seat room. Its appeal is the combination of compact size, quick-folding top, upscale cabin feel, and the brand’s light, lively driving character. Against other small convertibles, it stands out by feeling more personal and more tossable, while still being usable for everyday driving.

The Cooper is the everyday open-air model, while the 189-hp Cooper S provides stronger acceleration. The 228-hp John Cooper Works is the performance-focused version, with a sport suspension, aerodynamic body kit, and sport seats. Every version has four seats and a power soft top with a sunroof-style partial-opening mode.

“Pro...It is great fun to drive.... handles beautifully.... Con... Seat is terrible .... I have three pillows in various places to make it comfortable.!!! Visibility is even worse !!! If the top is up, it's hard to see out the rear window... If the top is down, it is IMPOSSIBLE to see what's behind you !!!”
