About the 2019 INFINITI QX50

All-new redesigned QX50 generation, first year.

Infiniti positions the QX50 as a style-first luxury crossover that also solves everyday family duty better than the older model did. The main pitch is a roomy, flexible cabin, a quieter and more upscale interior, and the unusual VC-Turbo engine that aims to blend strong low-end pull with better fuel economy. Versus rivals, Infiniti leans on standout design, generous interior space, and a distinctive powertrain story more than hard-edged sportiness.

The redesigned QX50 is a roomier, more family-friendly luxury crossover with Pure, Luxe, and Essential trims. Pure has dual touchscreens and a sliding, reclining rear seat; Luxe adds a panoramic moonroof and blind-spot warning; Essential brings leather seating, navigation, and surround-view parking cameras.

The previous V6 gives way to a 2.0-liter variable-compression turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions were sold.

A new front-wheel-drive-based platform creates a roomier cabin and larger cargo area. The redesigned interior also gains a sliding and reclining second-row seat.

Dual-screen infotainment and a power liftgate become standard across the lineup. The redesign also introduces Direct Adaptive Steering, Infiniti’s steer-by-wire system.
Safety

“Looks sharp, drives nice, awesome/comfort seats, great sound system, ease of controls. The AC lacks compared to my Fusion! Takes a while to cool down and the air just doesn't feel as cold as it should, especially for our FL summers! Also, my biggest regret is that this car does NOT have memory seat positions for at least two drivers. This should be a standard feature!”
