About the 2019 Honda Pilot

3rd generation (2016-2022), mid-cycle refresh year.

The Pilot is Honda’s family-focused three-row SUV, built to carry up to eight people while still offering flexible cargo space. Honda markets it as a practical people mover with a strong V6, easy seat-folding, smart storage, and a more SUV-like look than a minivan. Its core appeal is everyday ease: roomy seating, family-friendly cabin features, standard safety technology, and available AWD for bad weather, rather than rugged off-road hardware or maximum towing.

For 2019, the Pilot lineup spans straightforward family utility to an upscale, road-trip-focused cabin. EX is the everyday value point with smartphone integration, heated front seats, and easy third-row access; Touring adds navigation and rear entertainment, while Elite brings standard AWD, a panoramic roof, and heated and ventilated front seats.

Upper-trim upgrades included newer rear entertainment features, stronger Touring audio, a hands-free tailgate on Touring and Elite, and a wireless phone charger on Elite.

Touring and Elite received smoother tuning for their 9-speed automatic transmission.
