About the 2019 Ford Edge

2nd generation (2015-2024), mid-cycle refresh year; first year for Edge ST.

The 2019 Edge is Ford’s two-row midsize SUV for shoppers who want family-friendly space and everyday ease without moving up to a larger three-row model. Ford markets it around modern styling, standard safety tech, a quiet and comfortable cabin, and useful cargo flexibility, while the lineup stretches from straightforward SE and SEL trims to the more upscale Titanium and the performance-focused ST. Its core appeal is mixing strong turbo power with a more polished feel than many mainstream rivals.

The 2019 Edge ranges from the straightforward SE to the comfort-focused Titanium, with the SEL serving as the practical middle trim through features such as an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Titanium adds leather-trimmed heated front seats, wireless charging, and premium audio, while the new ST pairs a 335-hp twin-turbo V6 with standard AWD and a sport-tuned suspension.

What changed, by category

Styling
Every Edge gets a redesigned front end with a wider grille and new hood, plus updated rear styling. Bi-LED headlights become standard on the SE, while the new ST receives its own more aggressive exterior details.
Powertrain
All trims move to an 8-speed automatic with a rotary gear selector. The 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder rises from 245 to 250 horsepower and makes 280 lb-ft of torque. The new Edge ST replaces the Sport and uses a 335-hp twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6, standard AWD, and a Ford Performance-tuned suspension. Auto Start-Stop is also standard across the lineup.
Safety
Ford’s Co-Pilot360 driver-assist suite becomes standard on every Edge. Post-impact braking is also standard, while automatic high beams, blind-spot sensors, and lane-departure warning become standard on SEL and Titanium.
Tech
The SEL’s 8-inch touchscreen becomes standard rather than optional. Titanium adds standard remote start, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker B&O audio system.

“The Edge is a fun car with great technology options. If you are looking at the Edge to tow behind your RV the setup is NOT easy. If you are looking for a car that's sporty moderate on gas mileage then I would recommend the Edge ST to anyone.”
