2019 Chevrolet Spark

The biggest change for the 2019 Chevrolet Spark is a light mid-cycle refresh, not a full redesign. Most trims get revised front styling, while every trim receives an updated touchscreen system and two illuminated front USB ports.

About the 2019 Chevrolet Spark

2nd generation Spark (2016-2022), mid-cycle refresh year.

Chevrolet positions the Spark as a simple, city-friendly hatchback for drivers who want easy parking, low running costs, and modern phone connectivity without moving up to a larger car. Its core appeal is straightforward: a very small footprint, hatchback cargo flexibility, and a standard touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at a budget-friendly price. Compared with many bargain cars, the Spark leans on maneuverability and a stronger everyday tech story more than power or passenger space.

The 2019 Spark remains a simple, city-friendly hatchback, with the 1LT serving as the practical middle trim through features such as power windows, cruise control, and phone integration. The 2LT adds a more upscale feel with heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, push-button start, and rear parking sensors. The ACTIV stands apart with rugged-looking body trim, fog lamps, heated front seats, and a raised suspension that adds 0.4 inch of ground clearance.

Frequently asked questions

Was the 2019 Chevrolet Spark fully redesigned?

No. The 2019 Spark received a light mid-cycle update within the generation that began for 2016. Its basic structure, engine, front-wheel-drive layout, and city-car focus carried over.

What changed on the 2019 Chevrolet Spark compared with the 2018 model?

“I downsized from a Dodge Dart with Ralley package and that was a big difference. This car has no fob- that took a lot to get used to. 32 miles to the gallon is great. I didn't think it was safe because of the size but my son told me there are 10 air bags.”

“Surprisingly cute small car with great gas mileage and much more interior storage for hauling than expected.”

“Brake and Clutch pedals are too small, making it unsafe if you don't fully concentrate. There is also not enough foot room to the left of the clutch pedal, also making the vehicle unsafe if you are not extra careful while driving. Otherwise, vehicle performs okay.”
