About the 2019 Audi TT

3rd generation (2016-2023), mid-cycle refresh year for TT and TTS; second U.S. model year for the returning TT RS.

Audi positions the TT as a design icon first and a small luxury sports car second: a compact coupe or roadster with a driver-focused cabin, distinctive styling, and everyday usability. What separates it from many rivals is the mix of standard all-wheel drive, a highly digital cockpit, and real daily-driver comfort. The TT family is for shoppers who want something more expressive than a typical luxury coupe without giving up secure traction or a polished interior.

The regular TT is the everyday-focused version, pairing standard AWD with a 228-hp engine, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and LED lighting. The 288-hp TTS adds stronger performance and an adaptive suspension, while the 394-hp TT RS tops the range with a turbocharged five-cylinder engine, RS sport seats, and more aggressive styling.

What changed, by category

Powertrain
The regular TT and TTS replace their six-speed dual-clutch automatic with a seven-speed unit. The regular TT is rated at 228 hp for 2019, compared with 220 hp for 2018.
Styling
The TT family receives a light exterior freshening. The TT RS gets the most noticeable front and rear revisions, and its alloy-wheel feature moves from standard to optional.
Tech
Audi Phone Box hardware becomes standard across the lineup, adding a wireless charging pad and built-in phone signal booster.

“The Audi TTS is the most fun you can have in a car! It's fast, sexy & still good with gas mileage. It's super comfortable to drive, the soft leather seats hug your body. The only issue I have is the screen turning on & off when using CarPlay. It's very inconvenient & Audi has yet to correct it.”
