About the 2019 Acura RLX

1st generation (2014-2020), second year after the 2018 refresh.

Acura markets the RLX as its top sedan: roomy, quiet, and heavily equipped without asking buyers to climb a long options ladder. The standard car leans toward comfort and smooth highway travel with rear-wheel steering and a strong V6, while the hybrid version adds NSX-related electrified AWD and extra flagship features. Its core appeal is space, standard safety tech, premium cabin materials, and Acura/Honda dependability more than flashy badge appeal.

The front-drive RLX is a comfort-focused luxury sedan with a 310-hp V6, leather seats, navigation, premium audio, and a standard safety suite. The SH-AWD model is the performance and technology showcase, pairing a 377-hp three-motor hybrid system with AWD, a head-up display, Krell audio, ventilated front seats, and a surround-view camera.

“Not cheap, a little big feeling but it is a great looking car with comfort speed safety quite good gas mileage. I only worry about the resale with batteries and hitting 10 years and cost of replacement batteries”

“I would tell them about the ShAWD and it's lack of power in this model and tell them to purchase the TL ShAWD instead unless they prefer luxury over performance.”
