1st generation ILX (2013-2022), 2019 facelift / second major refresh.
Acura positions the ILX as its gateway sedan: a small premium car that is easy to live with, easy to park, and easier to afford than larger luxury sedans, while still feeling sporty and well equipped. Its core appeal is a rev-happy 2.4-liter engine, quick dual-clutch automatic, strong standard safety tech, and a cabin that mixes everyday comfort with Acura styling. Buyers choose it for Acura branding, reliability, and features more than for outright speed or rear-seat space.
The base ILX is positioned as a small premium sedan with a 201-hp four-cylinder engine, heated front seats, a moonroof and standard driver aids. Premium versions focus on comfort and phone integration with leather, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and blind-spot monitoring, while Technology models add navigation and a 10-speaker ELS audio system. A-Spec versions are appearance-focused, with sportier bodywork and Milano leather and Ultrasuede seats but no extra power.

The front and rear are redesigned with Acura's Diamond Pentagon grille, revised rear styling and updated LED lighting. Every trim also gets reshaped seats and driver lumbar support. A-Spec models receive darker grille details, revised sport bodywork, red cabin accents and updated Milano leather and Ultrasuede seats; the rear spoiler becomes standard on the Premium A-Spec.
Safety
AcuraWatch becomes standard on every 2019 ILX, bringing adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision-mitigation braking and road-departure mitigation. The separate AcuraWatch Plus Package is dropped.
Tech
Premium-package, Technology and A-Spec versions gain the newer dual-screen infotainment setup with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
