About the 2018 INFINITI QX30

1st generation (2017-2019), second model year; midyear 2018.5 trim rename and equipment reshuffle.

INFINITI pitched the QX30 as a premium active crossover that mixed coupe-like shape, hatchback versatility, and crossover ride height. The main draw was style, but with real everyday usefulness: a taller seating position, easy cargo access, turbocharged power, and available AWD for bad-weather confidence. Compared with more conventional small luxury SUVs, the QX30 stood out more for design, cabin materials, and sporty road feel than for rear-seat room or cargo space.

On later 2018.5 models, Pure combines a 2.0-liter turbo engine and seven-speed automatic with a 7-inch touchscreen and rearview camera, while Essential adds leather-appointed seats, Bose audio, LED headlights and a panoramic moonroof. Sport takes a sharper approach with a lower, firmer suspension, unique body trim, upgraded front brakes and parking assistance.
