2018 Honda Civic Type R

Daily Driving Race Car. Very fun to drive. Enthusiast will love it. Only pitfall to this car is FWD, but that's the Type R tradition. Best bang for your buck performance car under $40k.

The Honda Civic Type R can be a daily driver. However, it is at home being pushed into a corner or accelerating out of a turn. Its 4 cylinder turbocharged, 306HP motor is very smooth. Paired to a smooth 6 speed transmission makes for a lot of fun. While a newcomer on the block it is gaining a reputation for outperforming its rivals which cost even more money. Because it is a Honda, you can expect reliability. Trying to be a good steward of my money, I fount the Type R to be a great performer, fairly priced, with good reliability, and excellent resale if I ever need to sell it. While its styling is a bit on the "junior" side. I love the front end dynamics. The wing on the back is a bit much, and over the top, in my opinion. The interior has most of the basic features you would want, with great red / black styling. The 20 inch tires stay glued to the pavement, and the over sized brakes make for short stops. Know that the 20" tires are for summer only. If you live in the Northern part of the U.S. you might want to consider an aftermarket set for cold weather. I found a set of 18 inch factory looking rims and a set of Conti high performance all seasons. They perform great when it is below 40F, which is 4-5 months out of the year in Nebraska.

Driven enjoyment is fantastic with this car.

Practicality comes second, its all about tapping into the history and heritage of Honda's Type-R line, and having the chance to own and drive a car that was designed out of a pure passion for expression and dedication to the craft.

Exceeds all expectations.

It looks like a race car, it drives like a race car, it's fast, sexy, turns heads, and people stop and look at it.

Watch out for the poor paint job.

The driving performance of the car is excellent, very light car to drive yet it gives you the power to accelerate when you need it.

Its a beautiful and powerful car. The drive will not disappoint you.
