About the 2018 Chevrolet Impala

10th generation (2014-2020), fifth model year.

The 2018 Impala is Chevrolet’s full-size sedan for shoppers who want space, comfort, and an easy highway-driving character. Chevrolet sold it as the roomy, quiet alternative to smaller family sedans, with adult-sized rear-seat space, a large trunk, and straightforward touchscreen tech. Its identity is less about sharp handling and more about relaxed commuting and long-distance comfort, especially for drivers who want near-upscale cabin room without moving to a luxury brand.

The LS is the value-focused trim, with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and upgraded cloth and synthetic leather upholstery. The LT emphasizes comfort with dual-zone climate control, remote start and LED daytime running lights. Premier is the luxury-oriented version, pairing a 3.6-liter V6 with leather-trimmed comfort, navigation, Bose audio, wireless phone charging and added driver-assistance features.

“If you really want wireless cell phone charging don't buy this vehicle. There are very few phones that work with this feature. Other brands have a much better system that works with all phones by just placing them on the charging plate.”
