The vehicle has a great balance of performance, comfort, safety, and infotainment. The driver assistance features are complex and can malfunction.

the only issue is non-us golf Rs have the center armrest adjustable and opens up to a cargo space, but they locked it on the us version and that's really stupid.

I only have 3500 miles on this VW R, so far it is the engineering marvel advertised to be. The pick up is better than any car I have owned, same with the handling. The car looks pedestrian at a first glance so it only attracts attention from people that know cars. Most see it, think this is a VW Golf. This car has the shape of a golf but in no way is a golf. I have driven the golf, no way I would but that ever. This is a (Golf) R, not a Golf.

Fist off, no one would purchase this car without knowing what they are getting into. So, considering that, I would want to tell them DO IT!! DO IT NOW!!!

My 2017 Golf R is great but it does not have memory position switch's for the electric drivers seat, I would expect VW at this price point would have position switches for the seat.
