About the 2017 Porsche Cayenne

2nd generation Cayenne (2011-2018), facelifted version introduced for 2015; 2017 is a late-cycle update year before the mostly unchanged 2018 model year.

Porsche positioned the Cayenne as the sports car of the SUV world: a practical five-seat luxury SUV that still feels closely tied to the brand’s performance identity. Even in standard form it blends strong road manners, towing and cargo usefulness, and premium cabin materials, while the range stretches from a plug-in hybrid to very fast V8 models. What sets it apart is that Porsche sells capability and family use without giving up sharp steering, powerful engines, and a distinctly driver-focused feel.

The 2017 Cayenne spans from the 300-hp V6 base model to the 570-hp V8 Turbo S, with AWD and an eight-speed automatic throughout the range. The GTS emphasizes sharper handling and a sportier sound, while the S E-Hybrid combines a plug-in hybrid system with strong performance. Platinum Edition models add richer cabin equipment, upgraded lighting, parking sensors, special wheels, and distinctive exterior trim.
