About the 2017 Lexus CT

1st generation CT (2011-2017 U.S.), after the 2014 refresh; final U.S. model year.

Lexus positioned the CT as a compact luxury hybrid hatchback that blended strong fuel economy with Lexus design, material quality, and everyday usefulness. Its core appeal was simple: better mileage than most luxury rivals, a smaller footprint that suits city driving, and a hatchback body that adds flexibility over a traditional sedan. Compared with competitors, the CT stood out less for straight-line speed and more for efficiency, upscale cabin touches, and a more buttoned-down feel than a typical mainstream hybrid.

The CT 200h remained a compact, upscale hybrid hatchback focused on commuting efficiency and everyday usefulness. It paired a 134-horsepower hybrid system with a 42-mpg combined rating, while dual-zone climate control, a NuLuxe-trimmed cabin, and split-folding rear seats added comfort and flexibility.

“The gas tank is small. The engine burns the clutch in 'spot mode' uphill. The maintenance won't be cheap along with everything else associated with it. The reviews were spot on but it is definitely a much safer ride than I had before. I am a petite woman and the car fits me well, not so much for a bigger person.”

“I'm impressed with my Lexus. I love the way this hybrid maneuvers and its pick up speed. The comfort of the drivers seat is great. This is an excellent travel car.”

“My daughter loves this car. Someone sideswiped her in a hummer and she was injury free. She has friends who wanted to get the same car and they were disappointed that it is discontinued.”
