About the 2017 INFINITI QX30

1st generation QX30, first U.S. model year.

INFINITI positions the QX30 as a style-first small luxury crossover for urban drivers who want a higher seating position and hatchback-like agility without moving to a larger SUV. The brand emphasizes bold design, an upscale cabin, city-friendly size, and a strong turbo engine, with available AWD for mixed-weather use. Compared with roomier rivals, the QX30’s appeal is less about maximum cargo space and more about standing out, feeling upscale inside, and being easy to live with in everyday driving.

The 2017 QX30 ranges from a straightforward base model with a 7-inch display and dual-zone climate control to leather-lined Luxury and Premium versions. Premium adds Bose audio and rain-sensing wipers, while Sport stands apart with a lower sport-tuned suspension, sport seats, a 360-degree camera, and a self-parking system.

How the 2018 INFINITI QX30 compares

The biggest 2018 QX30 change arrived midyear: later 2018.5 builds adopted the Pure, Luxe and Essential grade names and made Forward Emergency Braking standard across the lineup. Early 2018 vehicles largely carry over from 2017, so build timing matters.

“The QX30/GLA250 is Great if you don't have kids or rarely transport full sized adults. It's fun to drive and a decent 2 person road trip vehicle.”

“Love my Q30, my only issue is the moonroof, which does not open; a sunroof is preferred. Also, I missed checking exterior lights, one needs to be replaced and is no longer covered; cost $2500 to repair-very expensive.”

“Super fun to drive and maneuver on the freeway; however, still not used to the ""stop-go"" engine in city driving.”
