Great versatility. Strong gas mileage for the level of performance. Transmission is smooth and quick, while torque management is a bit too aggressive on decel. Xenon headlights are a worthwhile option, but should be a standard feature on a car of this nature. Interior storage is surprisingly large - outside dimensions of the vehicle do not predict the large interior space. Materials and workmanship are commendable.

The Volkswagen GTI delivers high-end performance and quick, responsive handling combined with a sporty exterior and functional well-fitted interior for less money than entry level luxury vehicles. The GTI delivers fantastic gas mileage through a well engineered/synced engine and transmission, VW did this without CVT. Enthusiasts get feedback from the transmission that is expected at particular rpm levels in addition to a nice exhaust note. I love the car! It is fun to drive and an excellent "daily driver".

It is the perfect balance of "fun to drive" and "practicality". I really enjoy driving and this car makes even running errands enjoyable. It makes me want to take the longer way to work and home so I can enjoy the drive a little longer.
