Honda positioned the 2016 Accord as a do-everything midsize car: roomy and comfortable enough for daily family use, but sharper to drive than many rivals. The sedan leaned into cabin space, value, and modern technology, while the coupe added a sleeker shape and a sportier feel. Across both, the core appeal was strong fuel economy, straightforward controls, solid safety credentials, and a reputation for long-term dependability.
The LX is the straightforward sedan, while the EX adds everyday upgrades such as a moonroof, keyless access, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Sport sedan has a 189-hp four-cylinder engine, 19-inch wheels, and larger front brakes. Touring tops both the sedan and coupe lineups with a 278-hp V6, navigation, Honda’s driver-assistance suite, LED headlights, and parking sensors.

Honda dropped the hybrid powertrain from the EX-L and Touring lineups for 2016. Gas-powered versions of both trims remain.
Styling
The sedan and coupe receive redesigned front and rear styling with more LED lighting. The Sport sedan and Touring sedan also move to 19-inch wheels.
Safety
Honda expanded its driver-assistance suite across the lineup as an option and made it standard on Touring. Every trim also gets a multi-angle rearview camera and an expanded-view driver’s mirror.
Tech
EX trims and above gain a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. EX also gains SiriusXM and HD Radio, while the Touring trim adds front and rear parking sensors.
