2016 Chevrolet Trax: What's New, Specs & Features
Last updated August 4, 2026

The 2016 Chevrolet Trax is a true carryover with no major changes from 2015. Its trims, powertrain, styling, safety equipment and technology remain the same.
About the 2016 Chevrolet Trax
1st generation, second U.S. model year, before the 2017 refresh.
Chevrolet positions the Trax as a city-smart small SUV. The brochure leans on easy parking, upright seating, room for five, flexible cargo space and lots of storage, while the turbo engine and optional AWD give it enough reach beyond downtown driving. Compared with larger compact SUVs, the Trax gives up some room but feels easier to place in traffic, simpler to park and more practical for urban and suburban errands.
The LS covers the essentials with a 7-inch touchscreen, rearview camera and flexible folding seats. The LT adds conveniences such as remote start and cruise control, while the LTZ brings heated leatherette seats, Bose audio and rear parking sensors.

2016 Chevrolet Trax Reviews
What owners are saying about the 2016 Chevrolet Trax.
“My Chevy trax is a very functional little SUV. It's not very big so isn't right for someone looking for a good size SUV but for someone like myself who wanted the functionality of a larger car without the bulk it is perfect.”
“If you live in cold weather you may want to consider a car that has heat after it runs for 5 mins. The Trax still blows cold air after running for 10 mins.”
