I love driving the eGolf! The range is too little at 80 miles and it is inaccurate (as in, the listed range is not the actual residual range). Also, the air conditioner is terrible.

Great fuel mileage, love the style. Great workmanship. love the color. A lot of zip for a small engine. Seats could have more cushion. Side mirrors could be larger.

Charging from app-only is a major flaw. Infotainment system programming of charging and more gui for vehicle status while driving similar to German models would be much better. Carnet app is overly complicated and does not work. Also driving distance based on trip average is misleading, should have option to choose vehicle life average, or gps based average factoring in topography of route so not to be left dead on a hill out of a charge. Top speed program ability as well as customizable driving profile other than eco plus and normal would also bring the car to a 10 out of 10. Most of the needs for the car to be at the top are based on programming that can still be done with a patch from the mfg... can discuss more if needed.

Radio/navigation system head unit is somewhat slow to respond and calculate navigational routes. It seems VW knows of these issues and is replacing all units for 2016. While I have heard of a software repair for the issue of the radio automatically tuning itself to 87.7, I hope that a future update will correct the other issues with this radio. Fuel Economy is acceptable for a new diesel car (still needs to be broken in) but the tank, while rated at 13.2 gallons, seems to only allow the car to use around 11. A larger capacity tank would have been nice to increase the range and decrease the frequency of filling up. The exhaust system regenerates the diesel particle filter from time to time. It would be helpful for the car to let me know when this is occurring. The side mirror defrosters do not have an indicator light to remind me if they are on. While it is understood that diesel cars take longer to warm up, other markets offer an electric auxiliary heater for the cabin. This would be welcome in winter. Would like to have an indicator light to remind me when the side window defrosters are on. I will occasionally forget that they are on and this could burn them out. My old car also had this issue. Once in a while the radio will automatically tune to 87.7 when the car is started. I have read online that other owners also have this issue. VW is usually known for allowing windows to open/close with turning the key in the driver's door. Since I have keyless access, this is not possible. While I can close all windows by locking the car via touching the door handle, I can not open windows via the same method or by using the keyfob.

Overall, I have been very pleased with the new VWs coming out. We love our Jetta TDI wagon and are very happy with our TDI Golf so far.

I am loving my new Golf! After coming from a mid-sized SUV, the interior space is still taking a little getting used to, but this little hatch feels like a fun and classy luxury car.

The only complaint I have is the odd horn sound. It sounds like a Chevy and I am quite embarrassed and cringe every time I lock the car. Where did the VW "beep" go? AND may I have it back, please?

My new car has a head lamp problem that VW is unwilling to correct.
