I am very happy with the choice I made on my new vehicle. It was exactly what I was looking for and I am very pleased overall with my purchase, I do wish my payments could have been brought down a little more.

The engine is not as advanced as I would like. My 2005 Ranger got 20 mph (my driving) when new and 18 mpg with 100,000 miles on it. This new truck gets 18 mpg on day one. Also it is not as able to tow a small trailer. I think that needs to be improved. We have had it for several months and we love it!!!

I traded in a one year old ( 2014 ) Chevy Silverado for my Tacoma. When buying a new vehicle, a test drive is not sufficient to judge the quality and performance of a vehicle. It takes numerous hours to make a judgement on a vehicle. My Silverado had many more "standard" features and was a full size truck, which I now prefer over the small Tacoma. Additionally, with the options it did have, it cost just about the same as a "standard" 4 x 4 Tacoma. The V6 in the Tacoma is terrible. Pick up is terrible for getting onto the highway. Lacks power. Noise inside of the vehicle is terrible at highway speeds. Silverado was nearly soundproof. The "back up" screen is small and terrible quality compared to Silverado. Standard features of the Tacoma are terrible. One receives very little for much cost. Only bought the Tacoma becuase of all the talk of "quality." My Silverado had 8 recalls and that is why I traded it in. The 2014 was the first year of a new model for the Silverado. They were still working the bugs out. I wanted a vehicle that will last and from what I heard and read, the Tacoma is a well built truck. I am not happy with it and would not buy another due to cost, standard features, wind and road noise, cheap radio and controls, lack of drive information (tire pressure, outside temp., compass, etc, etc). These can all be upgraded for more money, of course. Bottom line: for the OTD cost of a 4 x 4 Tacoma with standard features, the cost is too much. I would have stayed with the Silverado after driving the Tacoma for a while. I get the feeling of "cheap" with the Tacoma. I have second thoughts after trading in my Silverado for the Tacoma. I bought the Tacoma ONLY becasue there were 8 recalls on my 2014 Silverado. The Tacoma has very, very little in the way of standard options that the Silverado offered. The engine noise, or the interior noise while driving is very excessive when compared to the Silverado. The V6 has much less power than my wife's Rav4's V6. Engine noise is loud. Silverado had 4 disc brakes. Tacoma's brakes are less than desirable. I did not realize these things, and more, until I had the vehicle for about a month of driving. There are many things you cannot realize with just one test drive. I ONLY bought the Tacoma for the reliability. I miss my Silverado and all the sweet things it contained (dual heating-ac controls, driver info center, disc brakes, auto dimming mirror with temp, compass, etc. etc. ). If I knew then what I know now, I would not have traded in my Silverado for the Tacoma. The other reason I traded my Silverado is because it would not fit into my garage. The Tacoma fits by about a foot. This is something I never checked prior to buying my Chevy, but did when I bought the Tacoma. The engine of the Tacoma V6 boasts 236 ( ? ) hp, but you couldn't tell driving it. The pick-up when accelerating is pitiful. Trying to get on the freeway is difficult when giving it gas to enter onto freeway. Disappointed and it is too late now. I should have leased a Tacoma for a short while before buying.

When the air control dial points to "feet", air still comes out the air conditioner vents. Entry into the driver's seat is difficult. There is not enough space between the seat and the top of the door opening. The opening for entrance into the driver's seat is too short. I have to enter head first in order to get in the truck.
