About the 2015 Subaru Impreza

4th generation Impreza (2012-2016), mid-cycle refresh year.

Subaru positions the Impreza as the uncommon compact car that pairs standard all-wheel drive with strong fuel economy, everyday practicality, and a solid safety story. In Subaru’s own messaging, the big appeal is year-round confidence without moving up to a larger vehicle: sedan or 5-door versatility, a roomy cabin for the class, and easy-to-use technology. That combination is what separates the Impreza from most front-wheel-drive compact rivals.

The 2015 Impreza ranges from the simple 2.0i sedan and hatchback to the leather-trimmed Limited and the more adventurous-looking Sport hatchbacks. Every version has a 148-hp 2.0-liter engine and all-wheel drive, while Premium trims add heated seats and mirrors and Limited trims use a larger 7-inch touchscreen.

Quicker steering sharpens response, while added sound insulation and thicker side glass help make the cabin quieter. The WRX, WRX Premium, WRX Limited, WRX STI, and WRX STI Limited were removed from the Impreza trim lineup.

“I really wish there was a hand hole to close the trunk. The Impreza hatchback has one and I think the sedan should have one, too.”
