2015 MINI Hardtop: What's New, Specs & Features
Last updated August 4, 2026

The biggest change for the 2015 MINI Hardtop is the addition of an all-new 4-door body style with more rear-seat and cargo room. The range also gains the new-generation John Cooper Works performance model and more standard equipment.
About the 2015 MINI Hardtop
3rd generation Hardtop family: F56 2-door in its second model year, F55 4-door in its first model year, and first John Cooper Works Hardtop on this generation.
MINI positions the Hardtop as the core MINI experience: a small hatchback with quick responses, distinctive styling, and the brand’s trademark playful handling. For 2015, that idea broadens from the classic 2-door into a more usable 4-door without losing the small footprint and lively feel. Compared with roomier compact hatchbacks, the Hardtop leans more on character, premium feel, and city-friendly size than on maximum space.
The Cooper is the core model, with a 134-hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine and a choice of 2-door or more practical 4-door body styles. The 189-hp Cooper S provides stronger everyday performance, while the new 228-hp John Cooper Works adds Brembo brakes, sport suspension, a sport exhaust, and dedicated sport seats.

2015 MINI Hardtop Reviews
What owners are saying about the 2015 MINI Hardtop.
“I have a 2015 Mini Cooper S/2door. This vehicle is terrible driving in the snow. Doesn't handle very well and slides a lot. I live in Ohio so this is a problem during winter time.”
“It as roomy as a Countryman, but very good on gas for me. Do not like the controls for main screen between the seats. Love the software of it”
