Although the electronics are a bit complicated, I'm enjoying the car very much.

Would welcome a hands-free way to open rear lift gate as Ford has with their foot-activated opening system. Useful when your hands are full of packages.

In first thousand miles there was a clunking downshift in the transmission when slowing down to a stop. This has largely disappeared now that the car has 7,000 miles on it. There is a periodic problem with the car not recognizing the key for keyless entry, even when I remove the key from my pocket and place it directly on the car. This happens about 1/5 entry experiences. My most recent purchase of a Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 constitutes my fifth consecutive Mercedes vehicle (one leased, four owned). As always, just closing the door of a Mercedes results in a solid sounding thud that is unmatched even in other higher end brands. The ride, is stiff but conveys a feeling of solid structure and good build quality. The exterior styling with a return of chrome accents in the more recent models results in many compliments when I'm out in public. On the downside, there always seems to be some quirks with Mercedes, true of every one of my five. This newly purchased GLK 350 fails to recognize my key perhaps one in five times requiring me to use the key/remote to "reboot" the sensor so that my key will be recognized for at least the next few vehicle entries. I tried switching keys and it happens with both in varying degrees. For reasons like this, I'd not recommend an MB to family because at this price point (over 50,000), along with a Mercedes badge, most people expect everything to run perfectly which is not the case with MB. They should strive for better reliability of features and controls.

Highly unhappy about the fact that the seat memory is not tied to each key. Instead of having to press and hold the memory number every single time I need to change it. My Infiniti did it automatically, as soon as the car sensed my key. If I did it manually, just pressed the memory number and it re adjusted automatically, as long as it was in the park position. I wish I would have known before purchasing. Also, not being able to turn off the ECO function permanently is a bit annoying.

Loving this vehicle very much, only complaint is the placement of controls for air cond, etc on console, they need to re-visit this situation, I feel like they are very low to see.

Fix the navigation controls. It is cumbersome and time-consuming to operate.

Cup holder on left side of driver would be more convenient. I am still, after 2 months, reaching for a shift lever where no shift lever is... Give me time.
