Acura positioned the RLX as its flagship sedan: a roomy, quiet luxury car that mixed near-full-size passenger space with driver-focused technology. Instead of chasing the hardest-edged sport-sedan character, the RLX leaned on smooth V6 power, strong fuel economy for the class, standard rear-wheel steering, LED lighting, and a high-tech cabin to stand apart from midsize luxury sedans from BMW, Audi, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz.
Acura positioned the base RLX as a roomy, technology-focused flagship sedan with quiet comfort and strong V6 power. It has a 310-hp 3.5-liter V6, rear-wheel steering, LED headlights, heated power front seats, a dual-screen infotainment system, forward collision warning and lane departure warning.

“Interior materials are less luxurious than my 1999 acura RL and the ride is less smooth. In my 2015 I feel every bump on the road. In many ways I don't feel my new car is as luxurious as my old car. The ride is rougher, the seats are less comfortable, the leather is less luxurious, aspects of the interior seem to have cheapened. It seems as though money has been put into technology instead of comfort.”
