2015 Acura MDX

Very happy with my Acura MDX. Performance is much better than I expected for an SUV, interior is very well thought out, and quality and anticipated reliability is excellent. I have seen some people complain about the Nav/Sound/Climate controls but any of these systems take some time to learn; I would like to see another level of control over the sound system (the sound quality is very good but I like to tweak things and this one is, probably deliberated, shielded from the user).

We love our 2015 MDX... much improved in ALL ways from our 2013 MDX. Huge difference. I understand the new 2016 is having problems with the engine shutting off and on when you stop and start. The feedback I give is don't buy a 2016 model until they greatly improve this energy saving problem.

Navigation system is not very intuitive. Till today I couldn't figure out how to get the full list view from the navigation. For example, if I give an address, I see only 3 steps at a time. I would prefer to see the entire route after I feed the address.

My driver door doesn't seem to always close with ease. I often have to go back and shut it. Not crazy about how the temperature controls are on the display. Find it hard to find when driving. I use one of the cup holders as an ashtray, when the heat or air is on, it blows ashes everywhere. Not sure where else to put the ashtray. On very dark roads I find it hard to see.

MDX is a great balance of style, comfort, and safety. Excellent standard features and nice options packages to consider.

Outside fit and finish not as good - paint job and rims are less than ideal.

Acura feels like cheap luxury vs. luxury.

Traded in a Lexus for this vehicle. Fit and finish is far from the Lexus feeling. MDX is a very well-equipped and utilitarian SUV but there is no "pizzazz" or feeling of pride/ownership with this vehicle. Looks like any one of a number of competitors' vehicles. Doors are a bit thin and you don't get the "thunk" of a secure closing - more like "tink". A little more chrome and bright color offerings would make a difference. Color offerings were all muted and very uneventful choices.

Highway fuel and hard suspension are the two complaints I have. The one disappointment was the Navigation System that has very limited capability.

MDX should offer "Heads Up" in windshield and delayed door locking.
