About the 2014 GMC Acadia

1st generation (2007-2016), second year of the 2013 refresh

GMC positioned the 2014 Acadia as a large three-row crossover built for families who need real passenger room and cargo flexibility without moving to a minivan or truck-based SUV. Its core appeal is simple: strong V6 power, seating for up to eight, a smooth ride, and a more upscale, GMC-styled feel than many mainstream rivals. Within GM’s own family, it sat between the more luxury-leaning Enclave and the more value-focused Traverse.

The 2014 Acadia remains a practical three-row family crossover with seating for up to eight, a 3.6-liter V6, and a six-speed automatic transmission. SLE trims focus on everyday usefulness, while SLT models add features such as leather seating, heated front seats, and Bose audio. Denali tops the range with unique exterior trim, heated and cooled front seats, a dual-panel sunroof, and added driver-alert technology.

What changed, by category

“Great look on the exterior and interior but the drivetrain and suspension are lacking for a Denali edition of a GMC. We expected a better vehicle under the hood. Within 6 months we had suspension issues, brake issues and transmission issues.”

“The GMC Acadia is spacious and great for larger families. Limited trunk space but seats lay down.”

“I love my GMC Acadia so spacious and perfect for my family. Also gives the kids some space but they are comfortable also. Love that the seats go down so I can haul big items if needed.”
