Chevrolet positioned the Suburban as the big, long-wheelbase SUV for people who needed real space and real towing ability in one vehicle. Compared with the shorter Tahoe, the Suburban’s pitch was simple: more room for people, more room for cargo, and the same truck-based V8 strength for boats, trailers, and long family trips. It served two audiences at once in 2014: families wanting nine-passenger space and fleets needing a durable full-size utility vehicle.
Every 2014 Suburban uses a 5.3-liter FlexFuel V8 and six-speed automatic, with Commercial focused on fleet duty and LS offering seating for up to nine. LT adds leather, heated front seats and Bose audio, while LTZ brings heated and cooled front seats, navigation, a power liftgate and upgraded Bose audio.
