About the 2013 Ford F-150

12th generation (2009-2014), mid-cycle update year

Ford positioned the F-150 as a full-size pickup able to cover commercial work, towing, family transportation, luxury use, and serious off-road driving within one broad model range. Its defining strengths were numerous cab, bed, drivetrain, and engine combinations; a fully boxed steel frame; strong towing and payload capability; and trim levels ranging from durable vinyl-floor work trucks to leather-lined luxury models and the purpose-built SVT Raptor.

The 2013 lineup spans the work-focused XL, the off-road FX4 and SVT Raptor, and several comfort-oriented luxury trims. The new range-topping Limited combines a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with full-grain leather, heated and cooled front seats, navigation, premium Sony audio, HID headlights, and a power moonroof. The SVT Raptor remains the specialized performance model, with a 6.2-liter V8, long-travel suspension, off-road dampers, locking rear axle, and protective skid plates.

Styling

Ford revised the front end across the lineup, using new grille designs and trim-specific details. These include black, body-color, and chrome versions of the C-clamp grille, plus a revised chrome three-bar grille on Lariat and King Ranch.

Tech

Updated MyFord interfaces reached FX2, FX4, and SVT Raptor, while Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum gained a standard 8-inch touchscreen. Bluetooth became standard on several trims, XLT gained standard phone integration and USB ports, and Platinum added standard navigation and HID headlights.

Safety and capability

FX4 gained standard Hill Descent Control to help manage steep off-road descents, while SVT Raptor gained standard rear parking sensors.

Trim lineup

The luxury-focused Limited joined at the top of the range, while the Harley-Davidson trim was dropped.
