Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

The AMG GT began life as a high-performance sports coupe with dramatic styling, a luxe interior, and a rip-roaring turbo V8 under its long, sculpted hood. It was a hit, and Mercedes-Benz capitalized on its success by introducing a four-door variant in 2019. While the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe (as it is somewhat confusingly badged) doesn’t offer quite the same level of performance as the original, it’s a reasonable facsimile for those who need a functional (if somewhat cramped) rear seat. Otherwise, stick to the two-seat GT, which is one of the best sports cars money can buy.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Model Lineup

The AMG GT debuted in 2016 as Mercedes-Benz’s flagship performance coupe. Two years later, it gained a convertible variant, called the roadster. The automaker also added a four-door version in 2019. Called the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, it shares a name with the two-door model but is actually based on the more pedestrian E-Class sedan. In 2022, the two-door version was discontinued, having been supplanted in the lineup by the all-new Mercedes-AMG SL.

The two-door AMG GT comes in a wide range of trims, which vary primarily based on their performance capabilities. The entry-level GT, which first appeared in 2017, features a 456-horsepower 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine. It sends power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The mid-range GT S utilizes the same basic setup but with a boost in output to 503 hp, which further increased to 515 hp in 2018. In 2021 (the two-door’s final year), Mercedes essentially combined these two trims into a 523-hp version under the GT moniker. If that’s not quite enough oomph, several high-performance trims are also available, including the 550-hp GT C, the 577-hp GT R and GT R Pro, and 720-hp GT Black Series. These trims offer not only increases in power but also other performance-oriented upgrades, such as larger wheels, stronger brakes, and stiffer suspensions.

At its 2019 debut, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe was offered in three trims. Most common is the mid-tier GT 53, which employs a 429-hp 3.0-liter turbo inline-six. In 2021, it was joined by a new entry-level trim, the GT 43, which gets a 362-hp version of the same inline-six. At the higher end of the range are GT 63 and GT 63 S. They share the two-door GT’s twin-turbo V8, which offers 577 hp in the GT 63 and 630 hp in the GT 63 S. All versions of the GT 4-Door Coupe come with a nine-speed automatic that delivers twist to all four wheels through the automaker’s 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.

performance oriented vehicle which should be purchased for the driving experience and not the appearance it may give others as it isn't necessarily designed for that in mind.

I would add 360 degree cameras, especially a forward-looking camera. Similar to system in the GL model. There are 2 options that should have been offered on the MB GTS: 1. 360 degree cameras as offered on the GL models, etc., especially due to the low ground clearance and front configuration. 2. Body LIFT for ease at low speeds in steep grade locations. This is offered with the Ferrari F12berlinetta and on other Mercedes Vehicles in past (SL models and GL that I am aware of)
