Maserati GranTurismo
With evocative Pininfarina body lines, a Ferrari-derived engine, and a cabin swaddled in leather, the GranTurismo is a distinctly Italian grand tourer, which expertly straddles the line between high performance and luxury excess. Those lucky enough to own one praise the shapely Maserati for its smooth and sonorous V8 power, standout styling, and balance of comfort and agility. And while some also bemoan its high running costs, lack of active safety tech, and less-than-spacious cabin, that’s simply part of the equation when driving an Italian exotic.

Maserati GranTurismo Model Lineup
The GranTurismo is a two-door luxury grand touring car that’s offered either as a coupe or a convertible. It features two-plus-two seating with room for up to four people, though the rear seats are best suited for children. One of the smaller Maserati offerings, the GranTurismo measures about a foot shorter than the full-size Quattroporte sedan (on which it’s based). The model was discontinued in 2020.
Maserati built the GranTurismo in a variety of trims, ranging from the base version to the mid-level Sport (also known as the S or S Automatic) to the performance-themed MC (short for “Maserati Corse,” signifying its racing intentions). To celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding, Maserati also produced a fully-loaded MC Centennial Edition. All versions offer a long list of luxury amenities, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, navigation, parking sensors, and an adaptive suspension. On the other hand, many advanced tech features, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, and lane-keeping assist, are lacking in the GranTurismo. However, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration did join the standard-feature list in 2018.
Under the hood, the GranTurismo features a Ferrari-derived V8 engine making between 405 and 454 horsepower, depending on the model year and trim level. Most GTs (as they are also known, for short) employ a six-speed automatic transmission, though some performance-oriented versions utilize a faster-shifting six-speed automated manual instead. Power is routed to the rear wheels (only). No hybrid or electric variants were offered.

2015 Maserati Granturismo Convertible
Beautiful car. Performs great. Less features than expected. Maserati needs to provide parts so customers do not have to wait weeks for repairs. This is the only thing that has caused me to question my purchase.

Interior cars function too old, very disappointed. Exterior is outstanding, all equipment inside is like 10 years later than other good brands.

Great style, great design, great performance. Still needs some improvement on newest technology and tools. More human than technology.
