Lincoln Continental

The Lincoln Continental, which spans ten generations, has long been a bastion of American-made luxury. The latest – and final – version (2017-2020) upholds that tradition but with a contemporary touch. Its sleek, sculpted sheet metal looks the part of a modern flagship, and its powerful V6 engines deliver satisfying thrust. The Continental is no sports sedan, though, nor does it try to be. Rather, its owners most appreciate the car for its rich cabin materials, composed ride, and spacious interior. On the downside, their primary lament is the big Lincoln’s lackluster fuel economy, which contributes to higher-than-expected running costs.

Lincoln Continental Model Lineup

The 10th-generation Continental is a full-size luxury sedan with room for five. It is the largest four-door sedan in the Lincoln lineup, measuring more than seven inches longer than the midsize MKZ. Both sedans were discontinued following the 2020 model year as Lincoln pivoted to being an SUV-only brand.

Lincoln offers the Continental in a handful of trims, including the base trim (which was called the Premier prior to 2019), the mid-tier Select (dropped from the lineup for 2020), the feature-laden Reserve, and the range-topping Black Label. All trims come well-equipped with standard tech features including an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. A suite of advanced safety features, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot warning, and lane-keeping assist, also became standard starting in 2019.

Buyers have the choice between three different engines as well as front- or all-wheel drive. A 3.7-liter V6 (305 hp, 280 lb-ft of torque) is standard, while a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 (335 hp, 380 lb-ft) is optional on the base, Premier, and Select trims and standard on the Reserve. The Reserve and Black Label also offer a high-output 3.0-liter turbo V6 (400 hp, 400 lb-ft). All engine options are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. No hybrid or electric variants were offered.

Total class car. Innovative styling means you are always asked about the car. I have been asked every week about the car and the first thing folks say it is beautiful.

Its a good vehicle, but there are some things that I would have done different with it. SO I would advise them to ask to do more research and ask more questions before buying.
