Alfa Romeo 4C
With brash styling, a raucous engine, and an exotic carbon-fiber chassis, the Alfa Romeo 4C stands out like a piranha in a koi pond. Owners love the mid-engine Italian for its distinctive looks, ample power, and athletic reflexes, which are race-car quick. On the downside, the little Alfa skews so heavily to sportiness that comfort and utility are mere afterthoughts. Seat and ride comfort both rate near the bottom of the 4C’s attributes, while interior storage and cargo space are almost nil. But the tradeoff may be worth it for those who want supercar performance without a six-figure price tag.

Alfa Romeo 4C Model Lineup
The 4C is a two-seat mid-engine sports car available in two body styles – a coupe and a convertible (called the Spider). Sold from 2015 through 2020, the 4C was the smallest car in the Italian automaker’s lineup, measuring about two feet shorter than the Giulia, a compact sedan.
Alfa Romeo built the 4C primarily in a single trim. As a dedicated sports car, it doesn’t offer much in the way of creature comforts. Standard equipment includes little more than air conditioning, an adjustable steering wheel, and a radio. A rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and cruise control were optional prior to becoming standard in 2019. However, advanced tech features such as smartphone integration and adaptive cruise control were never offered.
Under the hood, the 4C employs a 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Mounted amidships, the 237-horsepower mill sends power to the rear wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A manual gearbox was never offered, nor was all-wheel drive.

When Alfa came back to the US with the 4C, I couldn't resist. I love the car! We've had at least one Alfa in the family for over 30 years. When Fiat came back, I couldn't resist a new Italian car and bought Prima Edizione #024. After seeing the video of the manufacturing process, I fell in love with the Alfa 4C and placed a deposit on a non-launch addition in the fall of 2014. The 4C is all that I expected and more. It is without a doubt the most exciting and entertaining car that I've ever driven.

Love the car. A few niggles - no armrests in the driver door makes long-distance driving fatiguing. Radio is ridiculously bad and difficult to use - even budget cars have better radios. Overall, however, the driving experience is outstanding.

Was great to see Alfa back, I have two 1974 Alfa Romeos and have a strong connection with Alfa. The 4C is refreshing to me, as it looks amazing, is light, and I feel offers great value for the price.
