Outstanding Fuel Economy

Ever since the Prius went into production several years ago, its calling card has been its tremendous fuel economy. How good? EPA estimates have the Prius V returning a jaw-dropping 42 mpg combined (44 mpg city/40 mpg highway), making it one of the most fuel efficient hybrid wagons on the market.

Quiet, Comfortable Ride

Compared to the standard Prius, the Prius V actually provides a smoother, more comfortable ride thanks to the additional weight it carries. Per Edmunds, the Prius V feels 'more substantial and stable' on the road, especially when traveling at highway speeds.

Spacious Cargo Area

Not only does the Prius V excel as a people hauler when pressed into action, but also has enough cargo space to comfortably accommodate its passengers. Behind the rear seats, the Prius V offers 34.3 cubic feet of storage area, good enough to fit eight bags of gold clubs. With the rear seat folded down, that space extends to 67.3 cubic feet, which rivals most small crossover SUVs.

Acceleration

While it should be adequate for most buyers, the Prius V offers lackluster acceleration that doesn't really contribute in a meaningful way for the person behind the wheel. In Edmunds performance testing, the V accelerated from 0 to 60 in 10.3 seconds, which is slower than a number of other vehicles in its class.

Interior Materials

The Prius V is a true economy vehicle, which means that comforts you might otherwise find in more expensive hybrid sedans are absent from this vehicle. This is particularly true as it pertains to the V's cabin area, which features harder and cheaper plastics compared to other cars in its price range.

Sportiness

At higher rates of speed, the Prius V has a more difficult time going around turns and demonstrating agility. However, it's not likely that parties interested in a vehicle such as the Prius V would be seeking a high performance vehicle.

Several things I would like to improve: 1) more power 2) blind spot monitor as standard equipment 3) sometimes difficult to see the sides of the vehicle 4) bluetooth not always working 5) when washing the car, soap stays on edge of doors

I love it overall but was disappointed to hear from Consumer Reports, whom I trust, that it failed the crash test. Can this easily be remedied? Also, the beeping made when you back up is really irritating. It should be something you can either turn off or turn down. It's a real bummer, especially while using Bluetooth!

Everything is great except blind spot/rear visibility, which is unsatisfactory.

This vehicle should be available with roof rack. In general, smaller vehicles need to have more luxury interior options.

I love the Privis V. Great product and all-around safety features. I like that you made the MPH on the dash larger and more readable in the sunlight. I like not looking out the back into a windshield wiper. Great view out the back now -thanks. My warranty was up and I knew that batteries were not covered over 100K I love all the features on the new 2014. I just do not know what you made the GPS screen smaller! When I am ready for my next one in three years-PLEASE MAKE THE SCREEN LARGER AGAIN. Thanks.

The Bluetooth system on the audio takes much too long to connect. The navigation system feels about a decade out-of-date, and is frustrating to use. I am also frustrated that certain aspects of the navigation/audio system are not usable when the vehicle is traveling; I understand this is to prevent the driver from trying to multi-task, but it makes no sense if there is a passenger in the car who can use these operations.

The more I drive my new Prius V the more I decide it is my dream car. I love the smoothness of it, the quiet, the ease of operating the nav and entertainment system. The economy is wonderful, the fit and finish are a delight. I would recommend it to anyone. One of the few chinks in the armor: no change cup! A little drawer for coins would be a low-cost, easy item to include as a standard feature.

Car drives great. User interface, navigation and media controls are a disaster. Engine and driving experience is awesome. User interface for electronics, navigation and audio is awful.
