Toyota Avalon

The Avalon is Toyota's largest sedan. Since its 1995 debut, it has earned a reputation as one of the most comfortable and reliable choices in the full-size segment. The Avalon's spacious cabin and smooth ride make it an excellent choice for long-distance drives, while its robust V6 engine ensures ample power when needed. It also offers a hybrid variant with impressive fuel economy for such a roomy sedan. Owners also give it high marks for its suite of advanced safety features, which has long been standard. On the downside, some find the infotainment system to be less intuitive than those found in competitors. Additionally, while the Avalon's handling is generally smooth, it doesn't quite match the sporty feel of some rivals, especially in older versions (prior to its 2019 redesign). But overall, the Toyota Avalon should be a top contender for anyone seeking a dependable full-size sedan.

Too stiff of a ride - Glove box is too small. The controls are too complicated.

Difficult to get into without lowering seat all the way in advance. Console is too wide and doesn't give enough knee room for driver or passenger.

The car is built exceptionally well, the seats can use a little more padding.

Dislike the capacitive touch controls - too sensitive; no tactile feel. Not sufficient headroom, no sufficient seat width, and not sufficient leg room. Too cramped. No real spare tire; no room for one. Gas tank is too small.

The navigation system is more difficult to work than My Touch from Ford. It doesn't have a lot for POW choices.

2014 Toyota Avalon

I like my Avalon. But I don't love it. My fault entirely. I was in a lot of post-op pain. Should have taken more time with the buying experience. Probably would have been happier with a smaller car. IE Camry? Car meets all expectations except it just feels too big. Would still buy or lease a Toyota.
