Subaru Impreza

Since its 1990s debut, the Subaru Impreza has built a solid reputation as a reliable and practical compact car. As one of the few in its segment to offer standard all-wheel drive, the Impreza is an attractive choice for drivers who often deal with slick or snowy road conditions, and the fact that it comes in both sedan and hatchback versions only adds to its versatility and appeal. Owners of the Impreza praise its well-constructed cabin and user-friendly tech, which for many years has included Subaru's comprehensive suite of driver-assistance features. Despite its many positives, the Impreza isn't without its drawbacks, though. Some owners express a desire for more oomph, noting that the engine can feel underpowered at times. Additionally, while the Impreza's ride is generally comfortable, it can be a bit noisy at higher speeds. Despite these relatively minor shortcomings, the Subaru Impreza delivers an impressive blend of practicality, reliability, and capability in the compact car class.

2014 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium/Sport Premium Wagon

The clearance on the Impreza is too low. If it's going to be AWD, it needs to sit up off the ground a bit more. I tried to go over a snowbank, and it scraped ice and partially pulled the panel off - not ok. I popped the panel back in, but seriously, isn't that the car's job? To go through and over stuff?

2014 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Wagon

I believe the trend to make cars more aerodynamic has resulted in a loss of driver visibility. The corner posts on my Subaru do impede my frontal vision, especially on the right side. Also the rear view mirror is larger than it has to be and also impedes vision somewhat. I can live with it but it takes getting used to!

Vehicle ground clearance is a little too low. I have scratched the lower edge.

2014 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Base Sedan

In general I love my car... the 2 drawbacks - it does not have cruise control (which I didn't realize until the day after I had purchased it and I found it to be very strange since that seems to be a standard feature now) and the bluetooth is poor quality. Otherwise I love my new Subaru and if I still love it this much after I finish paying it off, and after the warranty ends, then I believe I may be a Subaru owner for life.
