Nissan Altima

The Altima is a midsize sedan with room for up to five passengers. In Nissan's lineup, it slots between the compact Sentra and the full-size Maxima. Its most recent (sixth) generation debuted in 2019, offering a bolder design, a more upscale interior, and additional advanced safety features.

The Altima comes in a range of trims, including the base S, the sporty SR, the well-equipped SV, the upscale SL, and the top-of-the-line Platinum. For the sixth generation (2019-present), the 3.5-liter V6 was replaced by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 248 hp, while the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder was upgraded to 188 hp. Both engines are paired with a CVT, with all-wheel drive available with the 2.5-liter engine.

Since 2016, a 5-inch infotainment screen became standard on the Altima, with an upgraded 7-inch screen available on higher-level trims or as an option. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration was first introduced in 2018 and became standard on most trims in 2019, along with an 8-inch touchscreen. In 2019, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of advanced safety features became available, offering collision-mitigation braking and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control was added to the SL and Platinum trims in 2016 and became standard on the SV trim in 2019.
