Nissan 370Z

With roots tracing back to the legendary Datsun 240Z of the 1970s, the Nissan 370Z is a sports car that has garnered a dedicated following for its engaging driving dynamics and eye-catching sheetmetal. Designed with enthusiasts in mind, the 370Z boasts a nimble rear-wheel drive chassis, a gutsy V6 engine, and, perhaps best of all, a reasonably affordable price tag. On the flip side, some find its interior quality a bit on the cheap side. Additionally, its raw sports car nature can translate into a firm and noisy ride at times. But overall, the 370Z offers a ton of bang for the buck in the sports car segment.

Nissan 370Z Model Lineup

The Nissan 370Z is a sports car that is available as a two-seat coupe or convertible (also known as the Roadster). It’s one of two sports cars in the Japanese automaker’s lineup, slotting below the high-performance GT-R. The 370Z shares a platform and some components with the Infiniti G37, which is built by Nissan’s luxury arm. It was discontinued in 2020, making way for a newer version called the Nissan Z.

The 370Z comes in various trims, including the base, Sport, Sport Touring, and Nismo. The base trim offers essential features, while the Sport trim adds some performance enhancements including a limited-slip differential, bigger brakes, and a sport-tuned suspension. The Sport Touring trim offers more luxury features, such as leather-appointed seats and a navigation system. The Nismo trim is the performance variant, with a more powerful engine, a unique body kit, and upgraded suspension components.

Under the hood, the 370Z features a 3.7-liter V6 engine in two states of tune: 332 horsepower for most trims and 350 hp for the Nismo version. The V6 routes power to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual transmission or an available seven-speed automatic.

Technology and safety features in the 370Z include a touchscreen infotainment system, available navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were not offered. The car also lacks most advanced safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, which were common in its contemporaries.

If you're looking for a used 370Z, consider the Sport or Sport Touring trims, as they offer a good balance between performance and comfort features. The Nismo trim is recommended for those seeking the most performance-oriented experience.

I have several innovations for Nissan. One is to make the armrests in the door lockable and able to house a pistol. Also you need to have a small space to place your cell phone that is not in the only cup holder. I have used my ashtray in some cars and it worked. Need is the mother of invention. The road noise is so loud cannot take this car on a vacation. I know the engineers are howling about weight and fuel econ but noise is a deal killer. I also found out that I cannot have a rear camera installed after the sale NOT happy, visibility poor when backing up. I would have paid extra for this feature.

I think we had a fair deal with our 370z. We love it so much so far.

Love my 370z. All of my grandchildren think it is cool and love it when I let them drive. Thankfully only 2 of them are of driving age thus far. Thank you for a well-running, beautiful car. Blind spot due to position of mirror.

I have only had the 370z for about a month, but I love it. It is fun to drive and everything I had hoped it would be. However, it is not my main vehicle. It was purchased as a second, fun car.

The only complaint I have is with the radio/display. The screen is extremely small with only a dual color display (orange and black). It doesn't seem to fit in with the quality of the other features/appearances of the vehicle. It also leaves a lot of open space on the front dashboard, which takes away from the appearance of the interior.

Problems with opening/closing convertible top. Had to get help of Nissan engineers to fix and took 3 days to finally fix.
