The Lancer is Mitsubishi's compact sedan. Produced through 2017, the model spans nine generations and enjoys a longstanding reputation for providing affordable transportation with a sporty edge. The Lancer earned notable enthusiast acclaim for its rally-inspired Evolution variant, which boasts a powerful turbocharged engine paired with sure-footed all-wheel-drive handling. Standard Lancers utilize a less powerful but more efficient four-cylinder, which routes power to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Even without the Evo's performance upgrades, the Lancer earns high marks for its responsiveness, making it one of the more engaging choices in the segment.
