Lexus UX
The UX offers much of the style and luxury that buyers have come to expect from Lexus but in a small and relatively affordable package. Though it’s based on the entry-level Toyota C-HR, the little Lexus hides it well with dramatic sheet metal and a surprisingly upscale interior. Owners rate the UX highly for those qualities as well as its nimble handling around town, top-notch safety tech, and excellent fuel economy. On the downside, rear-seat legroom is less than generous, and both acceleration and refinement from the four-cylinder engine are subpar for the segment.

Lexus UX Model Lineup
The UX is Lexus’ offering in the subcompact crossover SUV class. Capable of seating up to five people, it’s the smallest sport-ute in the luxury automaker’s lineup, measuring about seven inches shorter than the compact NX. The UX shares a platform and some components with the Toyota C-HR, made by Lexus’ parent company.
Lexus offers the UX in several configurations, starting with its two available powertrains. The UX 200 utilizes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 169 horsepower. It drives the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). A hybrid variant, called the UX 250h, adds a small battery pack and a pair of electric motors to deliver 181 total horsepower and all-wheel drive.
Additionally, the UX can be outfitted in one of three trims: the entry-level base, the well-equipped Luxury, and the performance-themed F Sport. All come standard with numerous premium features, including LED headlights, power-adjustable front seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration (the latter added in 2020). Standard safety tech is generous, too, offering adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, and a rearview camera. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert became standard in 2021 and was optional beforehand. Other notable options include a sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, parking sensors, and a wireless smartphone charger.

Though this vehicle gets great gas mileage the smaller gas tank means you still need to go to the gas station often.
